Guru Phil Norman was assisted by 2 of his top Instructors, Tony Pears and Woody White.
I was also very proud and honoured to have amongst the participants, my teacher, Terry Barnett who travelled down from Herts, along with Savash and Paul.
Starting with some basic kickboxing drills, we then looked at ways of bridging the gap and closing range, leading into some clinch work.
Phil showed us some take downs from the clinch and continued to display his remarkable skills and expertise on all aspects of ground work.
Ground work included positioning and submissions with set ups and incorporating striking simultaneously.
Phil's excellent teaching skills coupled with his assistants to constantly lend a hand when needed, made this a very informative and enjoyable day.
We completed the seminar by Phil, Tony and Woody taking it in turns to roll with everyone, coaching along the way - awesome!!!!
Phil closed by a brief Q & A session and then it was off to Gunwharf for to replace those burnt calories on food and beer :o)
I would like to thank Phil, Tony and Woody and everyone who supported the seminar for a great day and I very much look forward to the next one!!!
