First Ever Junior / Senior Seminar
For the first time we have arranged a combined junior / senior seminar. This will be followed with a family BBQ.
The seminar will take place on Sunday 1st August, 2-4 pm followed by the BBQ from 4pm onwards.

Junior Summer Seminar
Due to the success of the March seminar it has been decided to hold another. Here is your last chance to give your fitness a final burst before the summer holidays!
One hour of Martial Arts followed by an hour of team games will be the format for the morning also drinks and biscuits will be included.

One 2 One's With Sempai Mia

is offering all the Junior students a great opportunity to practice outside of class.
One to one sessions are being offered in your own home at a very reasonable price, so why not brush up
on the skills you have learnt in class or your grading syllabus.

Rick Faye Seminar
SMA is very honoured to host Rick Faye, head instructor of the Minnesota Kali Group (USA)
and Senior Full Instructorships under Guro Dan Inosanto.
Rick Faye has an impressive reputation for seminars on the arts and has been invited back to SMA once again for an exclusive 3 hour session.
We are very fortunate to have instructors of this calibre visit SMA so this is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your training
and widen your knowledge of the arts. Also the seminar replaces the normal Thursday night class so where else would you be?

S.M.A.R.T. 2010
The School Of Martial Arts Recreational Training weekend is here again and will be
held on Friday 27th August - Monday 30th August 2010.
Based in Hamble, this is a fun packed weekend including a BBQ, Camp fire, food,
drink and of course training!!
The training classes normally focus on material which may be rarely practiced
in class, or include a particular drill or theme.
Families are most welcome to this popular weekend; a great way to socialise and
form bonds with the rest of the group.

Phil Norman MMA Seminar Update
As previously announced SMA is proud to host the legendary Phil Norman (full instructor
under Guru Dan Inosanto and top Cage Rage competitor) for a 4 hour MMA seminar on 21st
March and will now be accompanied by the renowned martial arts exponent Andy Barker!
Andy is certified under Guro Inosanto, Erik Paulson, Rick Faye and a black belt under Ed Parker in Kempo.
Make sure you don't miss this fantastic opportunity!

Happy New Year and welcome back to an exciting year of training at SMA in 2010!

7:00 - 7:55pm for Juniors and 8:00 - 9:00pm for Adults
Also be aware that Tuesday classes have been re-located to Portchester Community School, White Hart Lane, Portchester at a new time of 7:15pm.

Filipino Martial Arts: "Numerado"
Guru Terry Barnett will be teaching a seminar for SMA on 29th November 2009
at Admiral Lord Nelson School (12-4pm)
Terry is known for his expert instructional skills as well as his physical
attributes and students travel from far and wide to train with him.
Sensei has asked Terry to teach Numerado. Taken from the Villabrille system,
this is a weaponry drill whereby partners circle around each other, delivering
as many as 5 strikes at a time before changing direction and angling off.
The drill can then be progressed to multiple opponents and training in Numerado will
develop timing, awareness, correct zoning and positioning.
