Sempai Paul's 'NIDAN' grading involved a 2-hour assessment on a
121 basis with Sensei.
This included very advanced combinations that challenge
co-ordination and mental power. An excellent working knowledge of all Kata including application (Bunkai) and also sparring is required. Most students begin to really feel the effects of fatigue during the sparring and this is the ultimate test of spirit and character.
Paul is the original member of SMA and has always supported the school and myself.
With his excellent knowledge base and exceptional attitude, he is a shining example for other students to aspire to.
Paul is currently my training partner, helps me behind the scenes in running the school, assists me on seminars and demonstrations and above all, he is also my good friend''.
